As Istanbul Atlas University, acting as the data controller, we will process your personal data for the purposes explained below. 

The personal data to be processed includes your name, surname, signature, contact number, email address, information on whether you are a consumer, tradesperson or merchant, your preferred communication channel, the source of your consent, your type of consent to receive commercial electronic messages, the date you consented or refused to receive commercial electronic messages, your survey responses, and your survey evaluation results. 

Your personal data will be used for the promotion, marketing, and advertising of the products and services offered by our university, for planning purposes to ensure you benefit from our services in the best way, and for introducing you to the special opportunities we offer you. For these purposes, we may send you commercial electronic messages containing campaign, promotion, and other promotional content through your preferred communication  channel, such as the www.atlas.edu.tr  website, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, telephone, tanitim@atlas.edu.tr email, SMS service, and online advertising networks. Your personal data will be processed in accordance with Article 5/1- (Obtaining the explicit consent of the data subject) and Articles 5/2-a (Explicitly provided for in the laws), c (Necessary for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligations), e (Necessary for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right), and f (Necessary for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject) of the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, for the purposes of improving and developing the activities of our university by sending you satisfaction and evaluation surveys, planning and implementing corporate communication policies, ensuring that activities are carried out in compliance with the legislation, providing information to authorized institutions and organizations, and conducting legal processes. 

In accordance with Article 7/11 of the Regulation on Commercial Communication and Commercial Electronic Messages, published in the Official Gazette No. 29417 dated July 15, 2015, recording your consent to send commercial electronic messages in the message management system is a legal obligation. Therefore, your personal data subject to processing will be recorded in the system operated by İleti Yönetim Sistemi A.Ş., whose servers are located within Turkey, and transferred to the aforementioned company as part of this legal obligation. Apart from this, your personal data will be transferred to our business partners for the purpose of sending you commercial electronic messages and monitoring your consent and/or refusal processes for receiving such messages; to authorized public institutions and organizations upon request, for the purpose of fulfilling our legal obligations and providing information to authorized institutions and organizations; and to individuals from whom we receive consultancy services for the purpose of conducting our legal processes in case of any legal dispute. 

Your personal data is collected through non-automated methods such as physical form completion during interviews with you, and through automated methods via website, email, text message and telephone calls as a result of you clicking on the alumni information form link and candidate-related links on the website www.atlas.edu.tr, which are announced for participation in online promotional activities and filling out the information in the forms that appear there, and contacting us through our institution’s communication channels. 

According to Law No. 6563 on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce and related legislation, even if you have given your consent to receive commercial electronic messages, you can refuse to receive them at any time without giving any reason. We would like to remind you that you can easily and freely submit your refusal notification through the same communication channel that sent the commercial electronic message. You can also exercise your right to refuse through  the IYS ( in any way you wish from the date the system becomes operational ).

On the other hand, the rights of natural persons whose personal data is processed, in accordance with Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law, are as follows: 

  • To find out whether your personal data is being processed, 
  • The right to request information regarding the processing of personal data. 
  • To learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether it is being used appropriately for that purpose. 
  • To find out whether personal data is being transferred domestically or internationally, and if so, to know the third parties to whom it is being transferred. 
  • The right to request the correction of personal data if it has been processed incompletely or inaccurately, and to request that this correction be notified to third parties to whom the personal data has been transferred. 
  • Even if personal data has been processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law and other relevant laws, the data subject has the right to request the deletion or destruction of their personal data when the reasons requiring its processing cease to exist, and to request that this action be notified to third parties to whom the personal data has been transferred. 
  • The right to object to an outcome that is detrimental to oneself, resulting from the analysis of processed data exclusively through automated systems. 
  • The right to claim compensation for damages incurred as a result of the unlawful processing of personal data. 

To exercise the rights listed above, you can submit your request, including the necessary information to identify you and your explanation of the right you wish to exercise as specified in Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law,   by filling out the Data Subject Application Form available at www.atlas.edu.tr  and delivering a signed copy of the form in person to the address ” Anadolu Cad. No: 40 Kağıthane İstanbul ” along with documents identifying your identity, or   by sending it electronically via a notary public or email to  kvkk@atlas.edu.tr , or by sending the form  with a secure electronic signature to  istanbulatlasuniversitesi@hs01.kep.tr .

Depending on the nature of the request, the request will be processed free of charge as soon as possible, at the latest within thirty (30) days. However, if the process requires additional costs, we will charge the fee specified in the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board. 

Applications must be submitted in Turkish. Applications must include the applicant’s full name and signature (if the application is in writing), Turkish Republic identity number for Turkish citizens, nationality, passport number/identity number for foreigners, residential or business address for notification purposes, email address (if any), telephone or fax number, and the subject of the request. 

The application submitted by the relevant person to exercise the rights mentioned above must include the following: the request must be clear and understandable; the matter must relate to the person concerned; if acting on behalf of someone else, the person must be specifically authorized to do so and provide documentation of this authorization; the application must include identity and address information; and supporting documents verifying the person’s identity must be attached to the application. 

We hereby notify you as the ” Data Controller ” under the Personal Data Protection Law (KVK Law).
